Journal of an Activist Against Watch Tower Society/Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Abusive Policy

Thursday 2018.2.1 Houston Independent School district’s “Coffee With a Cop” Community Workshop

Following through on an idea I got on Twitter from fellow Activist, Jennifer Torres aka @NOT_trapped_, about bringing awareness of Jehovah’s Witness literature carts hanging around schools, I attended Houston Independent School District’s “Coffee With a Cop” community workshop on Thursday, February 1, 2018 to do exactly that: bring awareness.

The one-on-one sit down approach by the school district’s Police Officers immediately set me at ease.  Officer Moreno explained the purpose of the workshop was to strengthen the existing bond between the community and the school district to help keep a safe environment for students in the community.

The community that was the setting for this particular workshop happened to be The Houston East End, one of the neighborhoods I lived in back in 2005.  The Whataburger restaurant located at 6914 Harrisburg Blvd. was the venue, the place my wife and I ate our first chicken salad the day after moving into The East End.

Officer Moreno asked what brought me to the workshop and I let him know I started following Houston Independent School District on Twitter and saw HISD’s tweet about the workshop and felt compelled to attend.  What gave me the idea to start following HISD on Twitter in the first place was hearing Jennifer talk about literature carts coming to schools and bringing the first step of an unsettling indoctrination process to schools within her community in a different state.

Being proactive with this information is a first line of defense against this organization’s indoctrination process.  This process includes a particularly disturbing policy of requiring a victim of Child Sexual Assault to have a second witness or have the perpetrator confess to the crime or otherwise the victim would be expected by the organization to leave “the matter in Jehovah’s hands.”

Officer Moreno didn’t recall seeing the organization’s literature carts and had not heard of Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc.  This is where I laid out on white board what this publishing conglomerate is all about and how it’s Child Sexual Abuse policy is a clear and present danger to our community’s children and anyone who fall into its indoctrination.

Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc (WB&TS) is the legal entity of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  WB&TS formulated a policy known by congregation leaders called Elders as the two witnesses* policy.  This policy isn’t designed to protect or help the victim of Child Sexual Assault.  This policy can allow a pedophile to escape detection of proper authorities when the victim didn’t have a second witness to the crime or when the pedophile doesn’t confess.

How can this be?  These Jehovah’s Witness on Jehovah’s Witness crimes are typically handled in-house.  The victims are expected to report the crime to the local Elders.  The local Elders have already been instructed to have two Elders call “Bethel”, the organization’s main headquarters if within the United States or a sub-headquarters if within other countries.  Instructions from the headquarters include determining if there were two witnesses and or perpetrator confession.  If the answer is no to either question, the local Elders are instructed to leave “the matter in Jehovah’s hands.”

Should the parents of the victim report the crime to proper legal authorities after finding out the matter must be left “in Jehovah’s hands”, then that family will have gone against direction that is considered as coming from Jehovah.  This would mean the victim and family could be viewed as not being in “good standing”.

What an injustice to victims and their families and a break for the pedophile.

I suggested to Officer Moreno he Google search the Australian Royal Commission on Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Another Google search I suggested was to search Jehovah’s Witnesses settles $4,000 per day suit so it wouldn’t have to turn over documents related to data collected on its pedophile members which had been requested to help a victim in a case against it.

Officer Moreno assured me he would research this organization and share the information with his Supervisor.

I was also able to share one-on- on with other community Activists in attendance and learn of their causes which include gun safety with children as well as the Safe Walk Home program founded by Ms. Stella.  Both of which are groups I plan to join in networking.

It was good to see the workshop photos were posted on HISD Police Facebook page.  A group photo was taken at the end of the workshop by news media organization, Noticias 45 Houston.

HISD posts its meeting calendar online and my goal is to attend as many as I can to help get this message into the open and be another voice for the voiceless.

Here’s a small peak into Jennifer’s Activism

Regarding: Jehovah’s Witnesses Conventions Bring In Revenue But Members Are Subjected To a Human Cost Behind the Scenes

Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc sets policy for its religion, Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, or, better known as Jehovah’s Witnesses. Included in these policies are abuses which have bearing upon its members in areas of the following and need to change:

  1. Right to leave its religion without facing repercussions*
  2. Right to voice disagreement with any one policy without facing repercussions
  3. Right to report incidents of Child Sexual Assault when there isn’t a second witness or perpetrator confession without facing repercussions
  4. Right to choose a whole blood transfusion without facing repercussions
  5. Right to enjoy more than just necessary business association with a disfellowshipped family member or friend without facing repercussions

Please search the internet using the phrase “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and click the news tab to learn about current issues this organization is facing due to some of its extreme policies, especially in the area of Child Sexual Assault.

To help affect change in the above areas of abuses of this organizations, please:

  • Call the local Kingdom Hall and ask about the organization’s two witness policy
  • Boycott attendance at its conventions and public meetings
  • Avoid its literature carts to avoid the first step into this organization’s indoctrination process

Although this organization’s conventions bring temporary revenue to our cities, the human cost on the individual members lasts a lifetime.

Regarding:  Explanation of what Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc’s literature carts and its conventions have to do with its policy requiring Jehovah’s Witness Child Sexual Assault victims to have two witnesses to the crime allegedly committed by a fellow Jehovah’s Witness

Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society of Pennsylvania Inc (WB&TS) is the legal entity which governs policy for its religious organization known as Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Most in the general public, as well as some of its own members, only know their group of smiling faces as Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Individual Jehovah’s Witnesses are the ones who knock on doors and also the ones who attend to the organization’s literature carts.  Such carts are now beginning to show up hanging around schools.

Individual Jehovah’s Witnesses must adhere to all policies of WB&TS in order to remain in a culture of “good standing”.  A break in “good standing” by speaking out against a policy or a doctrine, or choosing to voice disbelief in any one or more policy or doctrine, typically results in the member being subjected to extreme shunning by members who are considered to be in “good standing”.

As a concerned citizen and former member of this world-wide organization who knows the culture, policies and religious doctrine first hand, it is my civic duty to notify the public of just one policy of WB&TS which affects victims of Child Sexual Assault.  I interact day-by-day with victims of this organization’s harsh policy and I consider them to be very important in my life.  We exchange ideas on how to help initiate policy change.

This policy is referred to as the two witnesses* policy.  For a victim of Child Sexual Assault to remain in “good standing”, the victim is required by WB&TS to either have a second witness or have the alleged pedophile Jehovah’s Witness confess to the crime. Without one of these two criteria, the victim is expected to “leave the matter in Jehovah’s hands.”*

Cases of Child Sexual Assault are to be handled in-house. Elders within the local congregation in the city where the assault took place have been already instructed by WB&TS to report the crime to the particular country’s “Bethel” headquarters for instructions.*  If not mandated by the proper legal authorities of the area to report the crime, the victim and family is not encouraged to report the crime to proper legal authorities.

This policy does an injustice to the victim and makes it possible for the pedophile to avoid detection by proper legal authorities.

Please research this organization thoroughly.  You can easily start by a simple internet search using the key words “Jehovah’s Witnesses” and click the news tab.

When you see one of this organization’s literature carts or hear of a Jehovah’s Witnesses convention coming to your town, please ask one of the individual Jehovah’s Witnesses for the phone number of the local Kingdom Hall then call and ask the organization’s Elders about this two witness policy.  Should you ask the individual member of the laity class about the two witness policy, you may find some of them have not even heard of the two witness policy because the two witness policy guidelines are recorded in book meant only for Elders.*  The laity class may never hear of the policy throughout the course of membership unless one of their own family members of the organization becomes a victim of Child Sexual Assault due the actions of a fellow Jehovah’s Witness.

For further information, please research what WB&TS is currently doing to keep some of its most secret records on pedophiles out the court systems. These records could be used by victims against their attackers, but the records would expose the sick two witness policy and tarnish the organization’s claim that it is “the channel of communication that Jehovah is using today”.+

Thank you for making time to learn about this urgent matter on how the smiling faces of individual Jehovah’s Witnesses hide the horror of their leader’s two witnesses policy.
